Ship Classifications

Warships

Lyria Class: High class war ship, used only in dire combat situations. Very rare and only owned by the most civilized of planets. Is manned by 1000 soldiers and extremely large, but quite maneuverable. Passengers are not permitted.

Forza Class: The footsolider classification of ships, the Forza class is completely combat ready, used most commonly in war. They hold up to 800 soldiers at maximum capacity.

Quacy Class: Combat ready, but mostly used for transport of dignitaries. More common are the Quacy class ships, but still only used by civilized planets. Often used in negotiating peace talks and alliances.

Torrini Class: Patrol ships, most commonly used to keep territorial perimeters safe. Completely combat ready, holding up to 100 soldiers maximum.

Knight Class: Single fighter ships. Used in war for covert missions. Often docked on other warships.

Cargo/Transport Ships

Taurus Class: Complete cargo ships, unacceptable for passengers. Has crew quarters and that's all. The rest is completely for storage.

Orion Class: Holds both cargo and passengers. Can be modified to be combat ready and are mostly used by private workers or pirates. The Serenata is Orion class.

Luna Class: Cruise ships, holding over 1000 people. These ships are the best of the best. There's healthcare, entertainment, complete catering to your every whim.

Ursa Class: Ships made completely for passengers, but not nearly as elite as Luna class. Think of it as coach on an airplane. It gets you from one place to another.

Personal Ships

Terra Class: Ships not made for deep space travel. These ships are meant to stay on their home planet, the equivalent of a modern day car.

Alien Life

Txeru: Small, cat-like animals that have wide eyes, brilliant colors, long ears and a tail. They love to climb and are mischievous little creatures. Owning one is quite the fashion nowadays.

Cyrl: These viscous little buggers are completely red, about the size of a bear cub, and travel in packs. They're carnivorous, so be careful if you land on a planet that has a Cyrl problem. They may look like teddy bears? But you'll be lucky if you survive an encounter with one.

Tavarus: These were large, bull like in stature with tusks and faces more akin to dogs. They were enslaved and used for manual labor only to turn eventually against their oppressors. Several people were killed. It was a harsh lesson, but one that was well learned. You can't tame the Tavarus. They run wild on their home planet of Marius now.

Draconis lizards: Spindly, thin lizards that come in muted colors to blend with their surroundings, Draconis lizards look like the dragons of legend, only they don't extend much farther than the human hand. They're actually quite helpful to their environment, secreting nourishing oils on tree trunks, making the plants shoot up at twice their normal rate. A few cures have been discovered using Draconis oil.

MORE TO COME!

Places of Interest

Kartika: A small planet run by the elite and criminal Lyon family. Their pull extends to a few surrounding planets in the system as well.

Hyperion: A hot, dirty little planet, locked in civil unrest. It's habitable if you can stand the heat.

Leda: A large moon inhabited by mostly merchants and nomads. Not very technologically advanced.

Tierra: A large, civilized planet similar to earth. It's not Eden class, but it's home to several billion people. One of the Greater Allied Planets.

Isa73x: Space station, where our crew is headed. It's a place that diplomats negotiate, a sort of 'neutral ground' for the nearby worlds.

Circe: The mineral rich planet just visited by our crew. Currently uninhabited.

Jiabari: Devastated by territorial war over Meris, Jiabari is a planet haunted by bloodshed. The wars have ended as the survivors of Jiabari have disbanded and abandoned their planet as of ten years ago. The survivors are very few and far between.

Meris: A completely deserted planet, depleted of the rich environment that it once had.

Aaerlyn: A medium sized moon, striving to become a superpower. Part of the Greater Allied Planets, though a minor player in the political system.

Callum: A ringed planet that is very behind technologically, mostly due to the storms that tend to cause so much surface destruction.

Vespari: A very culturally diverse, sophisticated planet, torn by politics.

Morphos: a technologically advanced planet, many new inventions are developed here.

Andalusia: A small planet originally settled by the Spanish, it has a warm climate and is a favourite holiday destination.

Titan: A large planet rich in natural resources over which wars have been fought time and again.

New Vegas: A moon that's scorching during the day, freezing at night. It's also a mecca for gamblers, being home to hundreds of casinos.

Persepolis: A medium sized planet originally settled by Zoroastrians, there are several indian and arabic dialects spoken here, in addition to standard English.

Kitsune: An advanced planet, a beacon of civilization. Kitsune is inhabited by mostly artists and scientists, and one of the Greater Allied Planets.

Aether: Aether is where the headquarters of the Greater Allied Planets lies. It is similar to earth, but with rich vegetation unlike that found on the home planet. It's entirely protected, with security unlike any most worlds could ever dream of. The best of everything resides on Aether.

Premise

In the year 2759 there is still so much of the universe left to be explored. But it's there if you're brave enough to venture into the black unknown, the depths of space that have yet to be charted. What will you find is as uncertain as the universe itself. Will it be treasure beyond your wildest dreams or horror that rivals your greatest nightmares?

Humanity has unlocked the keys to space travel. Interstellar travel is common, a large portion of the general populace owning a space ship. They inhabit various planets and moons, all looking for their home in this brave new galaxy. Alien life has been discovered of course, but none possessing the intelligence that humans do. Humanity continues to search and discover, their scientists unrelenting in their hope that they'll find something, something to better their own race, or an alternate race entirely. It's been done, but the greatest intellectual comparison has been made to the common canine.

Not everyone strives for bettering humanity however. Money, it makes the 'verse go round, or so the saying goes. Multibillion dollar companies employ workers all over the known worlds, at every asteroid belt and space station they can. They mine, explore, find new resources. The conditions the workers live in are less than ideal, depending on the company, but a person does what they have must to survive.

Whole planets have been discovered and taken over by people who have claimed them. What did they do with their planets? It was up to them really. Prison colonies, resorts, or simply homes have all been created. The government on these planets and moons vary, ranging from men who have declared themselves kings to a fair and orderly justice system. It really just depends on where you land.

But the larger companies are always lurking, searching for their piece of the new discovery. They're subversive, using small ships and companies to hide from their rivals. Ships like the Serenata.

The Serenata is a crewship that does all sorts of various tasks for these companies. They mine, and generally explore places that most ships won't even think of going. That's what brings them on their journey. They went to Circe, a newly discovered planet with rich gasses and minerals to salvage.

They were on the return trip when out of nowhere, they found a ship, the OuranosX drifting completely off course and on the verge of explosion. It wouldn't be long before nomadic scavenger ships found it and gods only knew what would happen to the survivors then. Because, though most of the crew and passengers were killed, there are indeed survivors. The escape pods were headed deeper into space, the uncharted terrain that the crew of the Serenata just returned from.

Only two things are known. That what happened to the OuranosX was no accident. Second? That life just got that much more complicated for our crew. With only a month until they reach the nearest docking port, finding out who is responsible and why is top priority.

So who are you? Are you one of the OuranosX survivors or a crewman who's now forced to share their goods and supplies with them? Either way? It's going to an interesting ride home.
